Last Saturday, we hosted a Bombay inspired feast at The Spice Club. We really wanted the menu to showcase the delicious street food and diverse cuisine that comes from this amazing city but also fuse our own influences and revamp some Bombay classics. Rather than me telling how the night went, view the pictures to catch a glimpse of the evening..
Whole spices about to be roasted and ground for our home-made garam masala
Our take on the Bombay street snack Batata Chaat-Flavourful potato cake served on a bed of
spicy chick peas with fresh home-made chutneys
Hot, puffed up chapatis ready to be served with the feast
Guests tucking into their dessert
Our modern take on a classic Bombay dessert, Shreekand. Cardamom biscuit layered with sweet yoghurt, topped with mango and
basil sorbet and a fresh raspberry coulis.
Looking back at the photos, I realised that I didn’t snap any pictures of the mains! Ah well. The mains did go down really well with guests asking for second helpings (and more!). It was a great evening and we met some wonderful people.
The next morning, I woke up to some lovely feedback from our guests on Twitter!
@donnakebab_daiz: @TheSpice Club Truly lovely dinner tonight. Big thanks to Monica, Anuj and Mama for making us very welcome!
